Parole denied for man convicted in 1982 killing

A state board on Tuesday denied parole for a former Anaheim man convicted of killing his friend who was beaten and tossed out of a Cessna airplane in 1982. This was the fourth parole bid for Lawrence Cowell, convicted in 1989 and sentenced to 25 years to life for killing Scott Campbell.
