Orange County leaders have largely turned their backs on red-light cameras

Q. Good morning, fearless leader. My beef is with the maniacs who continually speed through red lights endangering motorists and pedestrians. They see a yellow light and aggressively speed up, even if it means passing through the light after it turns red. This happens on a daily basis here in Rancho Santa Margarita. I would LOVE to see the return of the traffic cameras that could catch these scofflaws and prosecute them. Would this ever be an option here in California?
