Open-ocean swimmers put on their own float parade in Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH The ocean off Oak Street Beach was at high-tide but the surf was small as Lynn Kubasek, towing a huge pink flamingo, dunked into the 60 degree water.
Kubasek, 59, of Laguna Beach, was among 21 swimmers who decided to celebrate the New Year by holding the 1st Oak Street Street Swimmers Floatie-Float New Year’s Day parade on Monday, Jan. 1.
