Officials identify man who died in fall from Dana Point cliff

DANA POINT — A man who fell to his death from a cliff at Dana Point Harbor was identified by the Orange County coroner’s office on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were called about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to the harbor to try to rescue 53-year-old Derek Wilson, according to OCFA Capt. Jon Muir and the coroner’s office.
“It was very difficult to get to,” so firefighters used a helicopter to lower a paramedic, who was unable to revive Wilson, Muir
