NHL draft: Kings happy to get Akil Thomas in 2nd round

Continuing to try to improve their offense for the future, the Kings on Saturday took four more forwards among their final six picks of the NHL draft. The other two selections were goaltenders.

The Kings averaged 2.89 goals this past season, 16th in the league, and scored just three goals while being swept in the first round of the playoffs by Vegas.
