NFL Draft: Rams get running back Cam Akers with their first pick

The Rams used their first pick in the NFL draft on Friday to try to replace Todd Gurley.
If he’s being asked to do the impossible, Cam Akers didn’t sound fazed.
“Thank God I’m in this situation,” Akers said a few minutes after the Rams chose the running back from Florida State with the 52nd pick overall.
Akers was the first of two second-round picks for the Rams, who took Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson a few minutes later with the 57th.
