Newport Coast heir to Hot Pockets fortune gets 5 months in college admissions scandal

A Newport Coast woman who is an heir to the Hot Pockets frozen foods fortune was sentenced Tuesday to five months in prison for trying to cheat to get her daughters into school as part of a nationwide college admissions scam.
Michelle Janavs apologized in federal court in Boston for abandoning her moral compass and hurting her family and friends.
“I am so very sorry that I tried to create an unfair advantage for my children,” she told the judge.
