MOCA at 40 and the new art aesthetic
When I walked into the MOCA lobby this past steamy Wednesday afternoon to see how my favorite Downtown museum was doing at her 40th birthday, a young staffer in high-top Cons pulled me aside.
“Because it’s so popular today,” she whispered, somewhat confidentially, “we’re sending out an extra reminder to … well, to please not touch the art.”
“Really,” I said. “They touch the art more when it’s well-attended?”
