MLB Draft: UCLA’s Holden Powell is selected in third-round by Nationals

After UCLA’s program record 13-draft picks last year, the Bruins saw two players and three incoming commits selected in this year’s shortened and unprecedented version of the MLB Draft.
Following center fielder Garrett Mitchell’s first-round pick up by the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday, Holden Powell became the second UCLA player drafted.
Powell, UCLA’s go-to reliever and the 2019 NCBWA Stopper of the Year, was selected by the Washington Nationals with the 94th overall pick
