Michael Beasley has stayed in touch with Lakers while helping out his sick mother

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It made sense that his presence wasn’t announced. At one point, several Lakers said, they looked down the bench and saw Michael Beasley sitting there in the third quarter.
It was a surprise: Beasley has been out for the last five games now. On Sunday night, he was wearing a gray blazer instead of Lakers’ gold. But his teammates were nonetheless pleased to see him back – albeit briefly.
“ I was surprised. I was really happy,” rookie Moe Wagne
