Meter cops are put on earth to irritate

I went to town recently where the only viable place to park my vehicle was next to a meter. I dutifully put in my coin and when I returned but a few moments later there was a violation ticket on my windshield. Imagine me;  the one often mistaken for Mother Theresa’s mother.
Violation: To assault, abuse and dishonor. What a strong word for an innocent activity.
