McVay sits QB Jared Goff, Rams offense for third preseason game

LOS ANGELES — He stood in the Coliseum’s west endzone a few hours before kickoff, wearing a white shirt, navy shorts and a Rams hat, casually practicing his footwork. Three steps. Throw. Five steps. Throw. After a while, he retreated to the locker room, where he put on shoulder pads and a No. 16 home jersey. A handful of practice plays later, he took them off.
For the third straight week of his third NFL preseason, this was the extent of Jared Goff’s work day.
