Man suspected in Seal Beach carjacking attempt arrested

SEAL BEACH — A man attempting to flee police was arrested Monday morning near the Leisure World retirement community after he allegedly tried and failed to force his way into a stopped vehicle, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol requested help from the Seal Beach Police Department after a call about a suspicious man near the 405 freeway at the Seal Beach Boulevard exit about 5 a.m. on Monday, July 31, Sgt. Michael Henderson said. Police arrived, but couldn’t find the man.
