Man killed in Irvine when minivan crashes into traffic signal pole

IRVINE  A 48-year-old Irvine resident was killed Thursday, Sept. 14,  when his minivan crashed into a traffic signal pole at Modjeska and Still Night, off Irvine Boulevard.
Irvine police and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to the location at 10:54 p.m. and found the driver and only  occupant of the vehicle, James N. Kanavos of Irvine, unresponsive, police spokeswoman Kim Mohr, said. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his inju
