Man killed in Irvine collision that overturned his SUV

A 64-year-old Irvine man died Sunday, Dec. 31, after his SUV collided with another vehicle and overturned.
Gary L. Bye was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead several hours later, police said. Irvine police responded to the collision at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jeffrey Road and Irvine Boulevard.
The driver of the second vehicle, also an SUV, was also taken to the hospital but didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
