Magical out of Breeders’ Cup with temperature, will be retired

ARCADIA — Aidan O’Brien will be minus one of his main Breeders’ Cup hopefuls this weekend after Magical, second in last year’s $4 million Turf, spiked a fever that will cause the 4-year-old Galileo filly to miss the Filly and Mare Turf on Saturday.
Magical, who has amassed more than $4 million in earnings, will be retired and bred to No Nay Never in 2020. She was supposed to head a strong European contingent in the filly grass race.
