Loose boulders close Laguna Canyon Road

A crew from the California Department of Transportation is smashing boulders along the west side of Laguna Canyon Road that became loose during the most recent rainstorm.
The roadway is closed until 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, while crews remove the rock debris field, said Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jim Cota. The loose boulders were discovered following the storm that started Christmas night and lasted until the early morning hours of Thursday, Dec. 26.
