Long Beach distillery Portuguese Bend is using its alcohol to help prevent coronavirus
When the owners of Long Beach’s Portuguese Bend Distillery opened their doors in June the plan was to create vodka, gin and rum, as well as bourbons, rye and other types of whiskeys at the 3,900-square-foot distillery and restaurant.
But because of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the distillery is now making something that is currently in far higher demand than a bottle of vodka or gin — hand sanitizer.
