Letters: There is more to Lee
The recent destruction of the statues of Confederate leaders smells a lot like the Taliban’s destruction of Buddhist monuments. Ironically, those who want Robert E. Lee’s monument removed could not have picked a more undeserving example. Lee was anti-slavery, a model of Christian conduct and character, and perhaps the most brilliant military leader in the history of this nation, or any other.
