Re: “Should Assembly GOP leader Mayes resign?” [Opinion, Aug. 15]: Irrespective of the issue, I find it highly hypocritical of politicians who promote bipartisanship — except when it goes in the opposite direction. Mayes, McCain and others voted their consciences or cut a deal with the other party on behalf of their constituents. What’s wrong with that? Where are the Reagans and O’Neills, or the Clintons and Gingriches, when we need them?
