Letters: Protect civil liberties

UC Berkeley’s claim that it can’t provide security for Ann Coulter is an embarrassment, in two ways.
First, when the threat of violence prevents the expression of free speech, the school and the city fail to protect one of our most basic constitutional rights. They have been taken over by what amounts to a fascist criminal element. This cannot be allowed to continue.
