Legalizing hemp in America is long overdue

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, is making another push for legalizing hemp as an agricultural commodity.
On March 26, McConnell announced plans to introduce The Hemp Farming Act of 2018 on a bipartisan basis along with fellow Kentucky Republican Rand Paul to exclude hemp, a variety of cannabis sativa with low amounts of THC, from the Controlled Substances Act, thereby removing a key barrier to the lawful production of hemp throughout the country.
