Learn to appreciate and live safely with chaparral

Richard Halsey will lead the city’s first of four free public lectures.
Halsey, a biologist at the California Chaparral Institute, will discuss the beauty and benefits of chaparral and how to live safely in a fire-prone area. He has given more than 400 presentations and written articles about chaparral ecology.
