LBX in Long Beach will get ice cream and a speakeasy-style restaurant

An ice cream shop that serves everything from sundaes to popsicles and a speakeasy-style restaurant are the latest additions coming to the the Long Beach Exchange, the new retail center also known as LBX.
A spring opening is expected for Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, an Ohio-born chain that started serving scoops out of a gas station in 1945 and has since grown to include more than 60 locations across the nation. Handel’s will serve out of a walk-up window once it opens.
