Late-night motorists: You should avoid the 5 Freeway this week

Late-night motorists might want to avoid the 5 Freeway this week with the planned closure of the northbound side and left-hand lane in the southbound side from Norwalk Boulevard to the 605 Freeway.
The closures, which began Sunday, begin at 11 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. each night through Thursday and ending Friday morning. They will allow demolition and construction of traffic barrier rail in the median.
