Lakers get Thomas Bryant with 42nd pick

EL SEGUNDO — The Utah Jazz selected Indiana forward/center Thomas Bryant with the 42nd pick, which goes to the Lakers as part of a draft-day trade. The Lakers traded their 28th pick in exchange for the Nos. 30 and No. 42 selections.
Bryant, who worked out for the Lakers, averaged 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds while also shooting 38.3 percent from 3-point range his sophomore season with the Hoosiers. He also set an Indiana record in field-goal percentage (59.2 percent).
