Lakers extend qualifying offers to Alex Caruso, Johnathan Williams

The Lakers have extended qualifying offers to guard Alex Caruso and forward Johnathan Williams, the team announced Wednesday.
By extending the qualifying offers, Caruso and Williams become restricted free agents on June 30. Williams becomes a two-way contract player if he accepts the offer, which means he would not affect the salary cap.
Both players became important parts of the Lakers’ rotation toward the end of the season when the team had shut down or lost several players to injuries.
