Lakers bigs don’t play but stay supportive from bench
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — He wasn’t introduced in the starting lineup on Saturday night, but for every Lakers starter, JaVale McGee was waiting.
He stood at the end of the team line, greeting each of them with individualized handshakes. When he sat on the bench, he and Dwight Howard were the loudest voices crying out and waiving their arms with adolescent energy. When rookie Talen Horton-Tucker scored in the first half, both of the Lakers’ centers sprung up in celebration.
