Lake Forest celebrated construction milestone on Civic Center project

Lowering a last steel beam into place forming the rafters of the community center that will be part of Lake Forest’s new Civic Center marked a major milestone in the project.
To celebrate the moment last week, a “topping out” ceremony was held – it’s a tradition in construction. City leaders, city employees and construction crew members signed the large beam, which was then lifted into place by a crane, an American flag fluttering in the sky from one end.
