Laguna Beach police arrest five in weekend DUI checkpoint

LAGUNA BEACH  Police arrested five suspected drunk drivers, cited four drivers for operating a vehicle on a suspended or revoked license and issued four other citations for vehicle code violations during a DUI checkpoint held Saturday. Aug. 26 to Sunday, Aug. 27.
The checkpoint was held from 9 p.m.-3 a.m. in the northbound lanes on Coast Highway near Aliso Beach.
Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence an
