Kings hire Todd McLellan as their new head coach

During recent exit interviews, Kings veteran defenseman Drew Doughty said he knows what kind of coach his team needs to turn things around after a disastrous season.
“I think we need someone that’s going to kick our ass a little bit,” he said.
General manager Rob Blake said he wanted someone with NHL experience, a strong system, the capacity to tell his players why things are done a certain way and someone with “the ability to motivate.”
