Kings’ Drew Doughty makes his time on ice well spent

EL SEGUNDO – Drew Doughty was told by a reporter the other day that he leads the league in time on ice. As if unsure of exactly what was said, he responded by saying, “I do, or don’t?”
It really seemed like he didn’t know that his 27:09 of TOI does indeed rank No. 1 in the NHL. It’s no surprise, though. The Kings’ All-Star defenseman finished second, third and second the past three seasons in that category. It’s not for the reason some might think.
