Kings draw No. 2 pick in NHL draft lottery; Ducks No. 6

Following the first phase of the NHL’s draft lottery Friday, the Ducks and Kings both gained direction as they hoped to pluck a potential franchise cornerstone from the amateur draft.
The Kings will pick second overall and the Ducks will pick sixth. They would have selected fourth and fifth, respectively, if the draft were sequenced in reverse order based on points percentage.
