Johnson helps Kennedy baseball end 30-year wait for CIF-SS title with win over Sonora

RIVERSIDE — Wyatt Johnson was dominant on the mound and Kennedy’s potent bats gave him the edge he needed to lead the Fighting Irish to their first CIF Southern Section baseball championship in three decades.
Johnson struck out a dozen and allowed just one hit through six innings before settling for a three-hitter as Kennedy stomped No. 1 seed Sonora, 7-1, in the Division 4 title game Saturday night at UC Riverside.
