Jill Ellis will step down as US women’s soccer coach
U.S. Women’s National Team soccer coach Jill Ellis will step down in October, U.S. Soccer announced Tuesday.
Ellis, 52, will stay on as coach through the national team’s victory tour, which begins Saturday at the Rose Bowl against the Republic of Ireland (7 p.m.; ESPN2).
Ellis departs as the first coach to win two Women’s World Cups (2015 and 2019). Her overall record is an impressive 102-7-18.
