Jaylen Erwin, from junior college to UCLA, brings speed and versatility

LOS ANGELES — Jaylen Erwin glanced out across the flat Kansas landscape and thought about how he wanted to be anywhere but where he was.
He was a North Carolina native, with the Charlotte skyline tattooed on the inside of his left biceps, but he was playing junior college football in Hutchinson, Kan. He hoped it wouldn’t last too long.
