It’s Mater Dei at Mission Viejo for third year in a row

For the third year in a row, Mission Viejo is the home team against Mater Dei in a CIF-Southern Section Division 1 football playoff game.
The Monarchs and Diablos meet Friday in a Division 1 semifinal. Mater Dei, two-time defending Division 1 champion, advanced with a 63-23 win over Bishop Amat of La Puente this past Friday. Mission Viejo advanced via a 38-35 win over Servite.
Mater Dei defeated Mission Viejo in the Division 1 playoffs in 2017 and ’18.
