Its gig in space concluded, Hawthorne-based SpaceX’s Dragon cargo ship splashes down back on Earth
The SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft returned to Earth on Friday from the International Space Station, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean at 3:30 p.m., according to the company on Twitter.
“Spashdown of Dragon confirmed. Recovery team en route,” staff for Elon Musk’s Hawthorne-based rocket-builder tweeted. Shortly before, a Twitter post reported: “Dragon’s three main parachutes have been deployed.”Splashdown of Dragon confirmed. Recovery team en route.
