After a flirtation with burgers, IHOP is returning to its true love, pancakes, for its 60th anniversary.
The casual restaurant chain will mark the event Tuesday, July 17, by serving short stacks for 60 cents.
The chain’s first restaurant opened as the International House of Pancakes in Toluca Lake on July 7, 1958.
The company is now based in Glendale. It became IHOP in 1973 and then, briefly, IHOB, earlier this year.
