Isaiah Thomas back in L.A., supporting Lakers while rehabbing from hip surgery

LOS ANGELES — Isaiah Thomas might never play another game for the Lakers and after undergoing hip surgery that will keep him out through August, it would be easy for the former All-Star to disappear from mind as well as sight.
Instead, he has remained engaged, texting Coach Luke Walton and some of his teammates to wish them luck before games.
Thomas, who underwent surgery on March 29 in New York, reached out to Walton before the Lakers’ loss to Utah on Tuesday.
