Irvine synagogue vandalized Tuesday night

Congregants of an Irvine synagogue were shaken after a vandal scrawled “(Expletive) Jews” in red on the temple facade during early morning Wednesday, Oct. 31, the incident occurring three days after 11 people were shot and killed at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday, Oct. 27.
Irvine police said the graffiti at Congregation Beth Jacob in the 3900 block of Michelson Drive was reported at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime, said spokesperson Kim Mohr.
