Irvine man burned while trying to put out fire at UCI housing

IRVINE — A man suffered burns Saturday, March 3 while trying to put out a fire in the garage of his housing unit on the UC Irvine campus, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 2:21 p.m. at 5 Pauling Court, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Horner said.
Firefighters from the OCFA and Newport Beach Fire Department arrived within six minutes and took eight minutes to put out the flames, Horner said.
