Irvine council will study original veterans cemetery site further

Irvine officials took a third swing at picking a site for a cemetery to serve Orange County veterans on Tuesday, July 10.
It was not a home run. The council voted 3-2 to launch a detailed study of a potential timeline, costs and logistics of cleaning up and developing the city-owned site first proposed for the cemetery, but there wasn’t majority support for Councilman Jeff Lalloway’s proposal to officially designate the 125-acre, city-owned parcel as the cemetery site.
