Irvine-based Vision Solutions Inc. acquired in $1.2 billion deal

Irvine-based software company Vision Solutions Inc. and New Jersey-based Syncsort Inc. have been sold by Santa Monica-based Clearlake Capital Group for $1.2 billion.
The companies were bought by New York-based Centerbridge Partners, a private investment firm. The deal closed Thursday, Aug. 17.
Vision Solutions, founded more than 25 years ago, works with companies such as IBM and AIX Power Systems platforms to protect their data, minimize downtime and maximize data center resources.
