Impostors targeting, burglarizing elderly in Brea

BREA — Police are warning residents of a scam in which men pose as city or utility workers, persuade the elderly to let them into their homes and then burglarize them.
Two such burglaries have been reported in the last two months, and in both cases one man distracts the victim while the other gets into the house and swipes valuables,  said Lt. Darrin Devereux of the Brea Police Department.
