How we managed to survive lax parenting back in the day

In last month’s Modern Parents, parents spilled it regarding our occasional parenting lapses. Confessions included resorting to bribery, popping a kid in a baby swing to buy a little time, and buying gigantic boxes of frozen corn dogs at Costco.
Sometimes we beat ourselves up about it – if we’re not too busy enjoying our few precious moments of sweet, sweet peace – but if you compare it to the lax parenting most of us got growing up, we’re doing fine.
