Just in case anyone had forgotten about him, Improbable showed just how talented he is with a powerful victory Sunday in the $100,000 Shared Belief Stakes for 3-year-olds at Del Mar.
Improbable, who hadn’t raced since finishing sixth as the 5-2 favorite in the Preakness Stakes on May 18, stalked pacesetter Lieutenant Dan into the far turn, took the lead under Drayden Van Dyke and then easily withstood a late challenge by King Jack to win by 2 3/4 lengths.
