Hiker reported missing near Snow Valley resort safely escorted through icy canyons

A hiker who went missing from Snow Valley Ski resort was found and escorted to safety through “multiple canyons and cliffs” by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue members early Friday, officials said.
The 50-year-old Simi Valley man was medically checked by paramedics and released, sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said.
This skier, who went missing Thursday afternoon, had a charged cell phone and was able to communicate with deputies, Bachman said.
