Here’s an inexpensive way to improve your rose bushes

1. Apply a quarter cup of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to each mature rose bush to boost its vigor. It is inexpensive and can be found at drug stores, where it is commonly sold as a laxative or for soaking feet. A cup or so spread around citrus, avocado and other fruit trees boosts their performance, too. This little bit once a year is just right, but more is counter-productive, so don’t get carried away.
