Has Manny Machado been the ‘big difference-maker’ the Dodgers expected?

CINCINNATI — When the Dodgers acquired Manny Machado in late July, GM Farhan Zaidi called him “a big difference-maker and potentially the biggest difference-maker who was going to be available going into this trade deadline.”
The 26-year-old Machado certainly had the highest profile of any player traded this season – and came at the highest cost (a package of five prospects including outfielder Yusniel Diaz). But his impact hasn’t matched that profile or cost.
